Hot Air Balloon in Rajasthan

Hot Air Balloon

Moderate 1 Hour 4 📍 Jaipur, Rajasthan

About

A hot air balloon safari over Jaipur is one of the most peaceful ways to take in Rajasthan — a sunrise drift above the forts, lakes and villages of the Jaipur countryside. Operated by India's pioneer balloon company, flights lift off as the sun comes up, floating over the Amer area with the Aravalli hills rolling out in every direction.

What makes it special:

  • A serene sunrise flight over Amer Fort, Jal Mahal and the pink-city outskirts
  • Big-sky views of the Aravalli hills, lakes and Rajasthani villages waking up below
  • A gentle, all-ages experience that ends with a traditional first-flight certificate

It's adventure of the calm, awe-struck kind — no adrenaline required, just an hour of floating over one of India's most beautiful landscapes.

Getting There

Flights operate just outside Jaipur in Rajasthan, with launch sites around Amer, Jal Mahal and the Kukas/Achrol countryside north of the city. Jaipur International Airport and the city's railway station connect it to Delhi, Mumbai and the rest of the country; Delhi is about 280 km by road.

Operators pick you up from your Jaipur hotel very early (around 4:30–5:00 am) and drive 45–50 minutes to the launch site for a sunrise take-off. The flight itself lasts about an hour, with the whole experience running 3.5–4 hours door to door. The season is the cooler months — roughly October to March — and flights are weather-dependent, so keep a flexible morning and book a sunrise slot for the best light.

FAQs

How long is the actual flight? +
About 60 minutes in the air, though it varies with the weather. Allow 3.5–4 hours for the whole experience including hotel pickup, the drive to the launch site, inflation and the post-flight certificate.
When's the best time of year? +
Roughly October to March, the cool dry season. Flights are sunrise-only for the calmest air, and they're weather-dependent — high wind or rain cancels them, usually with a refund or reschedule.
Is it safe and suitable for all ages? +
Yes. Flights use internationally licensed pilots and run under a civil-aviation permit. There's no upper age limit, but passengers need to be able to stand for about an hour, and very young children usually aren't permitted.
Where does it fly over? +
The Amer area north of Jaipur — you drift over Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, surrounding villages and the Aravalli foothills. The exact path depends on the morning's wind, since balloons follow the breeze.
