Rishikesh Flying Fox
About
The Rishikesh Flying Fox is one of Asia's longest and fastest ziplines — a roughly 1 km cable strung across the Ganga valley near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. Harnessed in and lying flat, you launch off a platform high above the river and reach speeds of up to 140–160 km/h, with the valley, forests and white-water rapids streaming past below.
What makes it special:
- A ~1 km flight across the Ganga valley at up to 160 km/h — one of the longest and fastest in Asia
- Run by Jumpin Heights (the same outfit behind the 83 m Rishikesh bungee), with a strong safety record
- Combo passes that pair it with the bungee and giant swing at the same Mohan Chatti site
It's the gentler-nerve cousin of the bungee — all the speed and the valley view, without standing on the edge of an 83 m drop.
Getting There
The flying fox runs from the Jumpin Heights site at Mohan Chatti, about 25 km from Rishikesh on the Neelkanth road. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant (Dehradun), roughly 35 km away; the nearest railheads are Rishikesh and Haridwar, with Delhi about 250 km by road.
Most operators run pickups from Rishikesh, and the same site offers bungee and the giant swing, so many people do a combo morning. It's operational year-round with weather-based closures in heavy rain or high wind — uptime is best in the dry months (October–April). Wear closed shoes and leave loose valuables in the lockers.
